摘要： 由于世界动植物的多样性,人们对于动植物名称的了解往往不太确切,动植物“同名异物”和“同物异名”的情况给动植物名称的翻译带来了很多的困难,译者缺乏专业知识或严谨的工作态度都会导致误译。以拉丁语为中介进行动植物名称的翻译可以在很大程度上避免错误的产生。

Abstract: It’s natural that people usually do not know exactly the names of animals and plants in the world because of the biological diversity. We have got great difficulty in our translation of the names of animals and plants because sometimes the same animal or plant has different names and sometimes the same name refers to different animals or plants. To utilize Latin in the translation of botanical and zoological names is a way suggested to avoid mistranslation.
