Discussion on the Translation of Terms

摘要: 不断涌现的新思想、新概念、新事物、新理论、新技术催生了大量新词语、新术语和新的表达法,令人目不暇接。在语言学界和翻译界,讨论如何翻译这些“新词语”“新术语”的热潮此起彼伏。针对国内术语翻译的现状,结合学界术语翻译讨论的相关观点与主张,探索术语翻译的路径与方法、原则与策略,并分析探讨niche market等术语的翻译。

Abstract: The ceaseless emergence of new ideas, new concepts, new theories, new development of science and technology has brought about a large quantity of new terms or new expressions, which have aroused the interest and attention of many a linguist and translator. This paper, in the light of the current situation concerning the translation of terms as well as studies of the translation of terms, addresses the principles, strategies, approaches and methods for the translation of terms, and analyzes the translation of terms such as niche market.
