作者简介:卢华国(1979—),男,博士,副教授。加拿大蒙特利尔大学(导师Marie-Claude L'Homme)和英国曼彻斯特大学访问学者。研究方向为术语翻译和专科词典学。2017年当选为中国辞书学会双语词典分会理事,担任International Journal of Lexicography期刊匿名评审,发表SSCI论文5篇、CSSCI论文7篇。主持国家社科基金后期资助一般项目1项和其他翻译类、词典类项目6项,合作撰写专著1部,参与编撰辞书2部,合译书籍3部。通信方式: louisluhuaguo@163.com。
张雅(1981—),女,硕士,副教授。英国曼彻斯特大学访问学者,研究方向为学术英语教学和科技翻译。发表学术论文20多篇。

摘要：

术语翻译方法是术语翻译研究的重要内容,但是学界对术语翻译有哪些方法,如何界定直译和意译以及术语译名是靠找还是靠译等基本问题都存在争议。文章以普通术语学研究方法和基本概念为基础,考察术语翻译的本质,据此演绎出术语翻译的基本方法,然后对各类方法展开论述,以期理顺术语翻译的逻辑,解决术语翻译方法分类、表述及应用中存在的争议。

关键词: 术语翻译, 概念命名, 术语找译法, 术语创译法

Abstract:

Terminology translation methods constitute an important component of terminology translation research, but there are controversies about such basic issues as what methods are available in terminology translation, how literal translation is defined in relation to liberal translation, and whether terminology translation is done through seeking the existing target language term as equivalent or renaming the concept in the target language. In this paper we examined the nature of terminology translation on the basis of the semasiological approach and basic concepts of the General Terminology Theory, deduced and discussed the basic methods for terminology translation accordingly. The purpose is to create coherence for, and resolve the controversies in, the classification, formulation and application of terminology translation methods.
