谈冬奥会项目术语的收录和翻译——以冰壶术语为例

作者简介:高永伟(1973—),男,复旦大学外文学院教授、博士生导师,院长。现任中国辞书学会常务理事,上海辞书学会副会长,上海市外文学会副会长等,担任International Journal of Lexicography副主编和Lexicography编委。参与20多部双语词典的编纂、修订、翻译和审订,如《英汉大词典》《新英汉词典》《新世纪英汉大词典》等。在国内外各类学术期刊发表论文50余篇,著有《词海茫茫》《晚清期间英汉汉英词典史论》《当代英语构词法研究》。

摘要：

为北京冬奥会创建的“冬奥术语平台”V3版涵盖冬奥会所有比赛项目,共收录13.2万个词条,包括8个语种的核心术语7100余条,其中包含了数百条冰壶术语。但笔者发现,此平台在冰壶术语的收录和翻译方面均存在一定的不足。由此,笔者基于充分整理的术语表、自建的新闻语库等对冰壶术语体系做了梳理,并指出该平台在收词、翻译方面的问题,旨在促进平台在词条收录和翻译方面的质量提升,从而提高其规范性。

Abstract:

Olympic Winter Games Term Portal V3, specifically created for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, encompasses all the sports events, including 132,000 entries, among which there are about 7,100 basic terms that are presented in 8 languages. Several hundred curling terms have been recorded therein. The author finds after frequent use of the portal that there is room for improvement as regards the coverage and translation of curling terms. Through collecting various curling glossaries and a wordlist culled from a database of news articles covering curling, the author created a relatively complete glossary of curling terms which are then classified and analyzed from several angles. Then the deficiencies as regards the coverage and translation of such terms are pointed out in the hope that the quality of the portal will be improved and its role in standardization be enhanced.
